Team Magma was a group originating from the Hoenn Region. Originally a criminal organization, was restructured by its leader, Maxie, following Team Rocket's takeover, aiming to end their rule. After retrieving Silvermind from Soil Colossus, Inc., Team Magma became allies to Team Liberty and the Rocket Separatists, up until Quincy Adams's attack on Havoc, when Team Magma was finally rendered obsolete.

Team Magma became a target of Shadow Admin Ace almost immediately after Team Rocket took over Hoenn. Due to the sheer swiftness of Team Rocket's attacks, Team Magma was quickly defeated and scattered alongside Team Aqua. Those members who were captured were either killed or imprisoned, including Magma Leader Maxie.
